The Blackman Blaze hit the mat at LaVergne High School on Tuesday night and delivered a strong performance, earning wins over Warren County and LaVergne while continuing to build momentum early in the season.

Blackman 48 – Warren County 24

A year ago, Warren County got the best of the Blaze—but tonight the script flipped. Blackman came in focused, aggressive, and ready to prove a point, taking control early and never letting go.

Germaia Ewida got things rolling at 113 with a fall, and the Blaze kept piling on with dominant performances from Andrew Workman, Carter Hughes, Landon McLean, Abraham Nadeau, and Trevor Steffy, who earned a technical fall. Ethan Clark added a hard-fought decision at 175, and Mason Davison sealed the dual with a solid win at 106.

Abraham Nadeau picked up a solid PIN vs Warren County

Although Warren County picked up a few late pins, Blackman’s early surge and bonus-point victories secured the redemption win the team had been waiting for.

Following the dual, several JV wrestlers stepped onto the mat for valuable exhibition matches. Luke Fisher, Karson McCrary, and Kyngston Russell all came away with wins, gaining important experience for the developing lineup.

Blackman 78 – LaVergne 6

The Blaze kept the momentum going in the second dual of the night, rolling to a decisive win over LaVergne. While the Wolverines currently field a smaller squad, they battled with heart and determination in every match, earning respect from both Blackman coaches and athletes.

Blackman delivered a series of quick pins and capitalized on several forfeits, while LaVergne’s highlight came at 175 with a strong fall by Caleb Carter.

Lady Blaze Look Solid

The Lady Blaze also delivered an outstanding showing at LaVergne, winning both of their duals and continuing to build momentum early in the season. Despite facing several tough and talented opponents, the girls wrestled great! The future is bright for the Lady Blaze.

Looking Ahead: Cleveland Duals Up Next

With the two victories, Blackman improves to 7–1 on the season. The Blaze now turn their attention to the Cleveland Duals this weekend, one of the toughest events on the schedule. The team will face high-caliber opponents and get an early-season test that will help shape their progress moving forward.

Get out there and support our athletes!

Go Blaze!
