
Smyrna, TN – The Blackman High School Wrestling Team concluded their competition at the Red Hawk Rampage with a commendable showing.
SThe Blaze sent a squad to Father Ryan while others took to the mats today at the Red Hawk Rampage hosted by Stewarts Creek High School. With fierce determination and unwavering spirit, our athletes at Stewarts Creek battled hard and showcased their incredible skills and sportsmanship.
The event was packed with talented wrestlers from various schools, but it was clear that Blackman was a force to be reckoned with. Among the standout performances, several of our wrestlers truly shone and made a significant impact.

- Millington Central High School, TN (Mill) – 210.5 points
- Warren Co. High School, TN (WCHS) – 202.0 points
- Cookeville High School, TN (Cook) – 181.5 points
Top Performers:
- Peyton Pickens (138 lbs) – Peyton had an outstanding performance, placing 3rd and scoring 21.5 team points. After receiving a bye in the first round, he won his next two matches by fall and tech fall. Despite a setback in the semifinals, Peyton bounced back, securing victories in the consolation semi and the 3rd place match.
- Ethan Clark (175 lbs) – Ethan scored 11.0 team points, showing his resilience on the mat. He won two matches by fall in the championship rounds, and another fall in the consolation rounds, demonstrating his fighting spirit throughout the tournament.
- Thomas Connor Rose (132 lbs) – Thomas scored 6.0 team points, with a notable victory by fall in the second round after receiving a bye. Though he faced tough opponents in later rounds, his early success was a key contribution to the team’s overall performance.
- Kyngston Russell (285 lbs) – Kyngston also added 6.0 team points, advancing through the consolation rounds with a major decision and a fall. His determination and hard work were evident as he battled through each match.
- Trevor Steffy (157 lbs) – Trevor made a commendable return to the mat at the Red Hawk Rampage after being sidelined by an injury earlier in the season. Despite it being his first match back, Trevor showed resilience and skilI scoring 6.0 team points. He demonstrated remarkable perseverance, winning two matches by fall and showcasing his potential for future success.

Overall, the team placed 14th with a total of 69.5 points.
The team showed incredible unity and support for one another throughout the competition. Their hard work and dedication were evident in every match, and they made Blackman High School proud with their outstanding performances.
