Blackman Wrestling is sending an historic THREE wrestlers to the State Finals tonight at the TSSAA State Tournament. Freshman Andrew Workman (106), Senior Sebron Colson (113), and Sophomore Thomas Rubio (138) all won their semi-finals matches yesterday at the Ag Center. All three will compete in the State Championship match tonight which begins at 5:30PM.

Over the years, on several occasions, the Blaze has had two finalists……. but never three.

Another first, no one is out of the tournament yet!!! Everyone won at least one match yesterday and all are still alive in the consolation rounds!! That is GREAT!!

So far, FOUR Blackman Wrestlers are guaranteed to earn a medal at state. Workman, Colson, and Rubio can finish no worse than 2nd place. Jonna Peterson on the girls side is guaranteed top 6.

For everyone in the consolation rounds, they have to win two in a row in order to medal. Aslan Nadeau, Isaiah Thephavong, Blaise Meeks, James Revell and Ian Carrethers are all in the same boat. Win two or go home empty handed.

The girls in the consolation round are no different, Shai Ring, Ali Bryant, and Bailynn Lowe all need to win two in order to write their name on the wall.
