Without much time to rest , the Blaze traveled to Shelbyville Central High School on Thursday night for a tri meet with Shelbyville and Franklin County.   As it turned out, Forrest High School was also in attendance so Blackman ended up with three dual meets.

The evening started off with Shelbyville.  Shelbyville has a new coach and they are rebuilding a bit so they ended up giving 7 forfeits in the dual.  The highlight was probably Jalen Brown earning a very close 9-8 decision over an extremely tough Haustin Parsons.  Final Score – Blackman 68  – Shelbyville 9

In the Franklin County dual, Coach Bray gave a few of our JV guys an opportunity to get some live match time.  The last time that Blackman and Franklin County met, the Blaze handled the Rebels with ease.  This time things were a bit closer.  The highlight was Jamil Hughes getting a revenge PIN over Jacob Mathis at 285.  Mathis pinned Jamil in their last meeting.  Final Scoce – Blackman 60 – Franklin Co 20.

In the Forrest match, Brooks and Jalen got a couple of pins at 138 and 145 to open things up.  Jaylen Hughes came in at 152 and was pinned by Dylan Walls.  At 160, Matthew Sells pinned AA 3rd ranked Wesley McCoy.  Ryan Heath and Spencer Layne pinned their opponents at 170 and 182.  Clanton pinned Dylan Heath at 220.  At 285, Jamil pinned Donnelly.  Evan Smart kept things going with a Pin at 106 over Carter Jones.  Forrest’s AA Ranked 120 Pendley pinned Van Voorst at 120 before Hunter Dallas and Daniel Bradford pinned their opponents at 126 and 132.  Final Score Blackman 60 – Forrest 22.
