It’s always been said that “time flies when you’re having fun”.  Well, time has flown, and the Blackman Wrestling team has had tons of fun!

Like any year, this season has been filled with twists and turns but one thing is for certain, the Blackman Wrestling team is ready for the post-season!!

Once again, it’s time for the Region Duals!!!

Blackman has been blazing through the season and recently wrapped up the District 10 Championship with its win last week over the Siegel Stars.

Blackman finished the regular season undefeated in District 10.

  • Blackman 57 – Stewarts Creek 22
  • Blackman 59 – Smyrna 24
  • Blackman 60 – Cookeville 15
  • Blackman 37 – Oakland 33
  • Blackman 62 – LaVergne 12
  • Blackman 72 – Riverdale 9
  • Blackman 78 – Siegel 6

The top two teams from District 9 and the top two teams from District 10 will compete TOMORROW NIGHT at Siegel High School for the TSSAA REGION 5 CHAMPIONSHIP!!

The runner-up this year in District 10 is Stewarts Creek.  The Red Hawks narrowly defeated the Oakland Patriots last week on a Monday night 33-29 in a heated contest which came down to the very last match.

In District 9, The Tullahoma Wildcats locked up the District 9 championship with a solid win over Lawrence County last night.  The Wildcats jumped out to a big lead and ended up forfeiting the final matches to help avoid injury and to ready themselves for the Region Championship tomorrow night.  The District 9 runner-up was decided by a crazy three way tie with Warren County emerging as the Runner-up.
