Blackman wrestlers were fortunate to be able to spend a Saturday with Olympian and former Iowa Hawkeye Daniel Dennis. Dan is a two-time NCAA All-American for the Iowa Hawkeyes and he won the 2016 US Olympic trials at 57kg. He competed in the 2016 Olympics in Rio.
Dan is an excellent technician and his “refuse to fail” mindset is perfectly matched with what this Blaze team needs as they head towards the post-season. Dan’s technique is sharp and he emphasized the importance of mastering the technique and always working to score. The wrestlers really enjoyed meeting and talking with him and getting to hear some amazing stories.
The Blaze sure are lucky to be able to say that they received some mid-season instruction from a US Olympian. We look forward to having Dan back anytime!!
