As school is about to start, we know its just a matter of time before the cool breeze starts to blow and the leaves begin to fall. Wrestling season is not far away!! Blackman Wrestling has released their schedule for the upcoming season, and like last season, Blackman wrestlers will face tough competition on their quest to defend the AAA – Region 5 Dual Championship.
Blackman has two pre-season tournaments early on and Coach Bray uses these to help our new guys get their first matches out of the way. It a good test to see where our skills are and a great opportunity for the veterans to knock off some of the rust. Blackman hosts a pre-season tournament which will include a mass hydration event at Blackman High on November 19th.
Once the pre-season and hydration tests are done, the Blaze will begin the regular season at Warren County where they will have a quick opportunity to see where everyone fits before departing a couple of days later for Memphis and the Blackhorse Invitational. The Blackhorse is an individual tournament and is known to be one of the toughest tournaments in the state.
The schedule stays strong this season as Blackman will compete several top tournaments including the Wilson Central Invitational, the Bradley Invitational, G.P. West Invitational and the Christian Brothers Dual tournament.
Blackman has 5 home dates this season so come out and see for yourself how exciting and charged up the atmosphere is when some of Tennessee’s best square off! To our alumni and their folks, you are always welcome and we are expecting to see you when you can! Come out and check up on us!
