This weekend, The Central Tennessee Wrestling Conference finals were held at Warren County High School. The individual tournament was held on Saturday and the dual tournament on Sunday.
On Saturday, teams from central Tennessee came together to see who the best in the region is. Turns out that Blackman brought the hammers and on their solid efforts, the middle school team placed 1st in the individual conference team score. Blackman had three Champions and many other medalists!
- 1st Place – Logan Fowler(72), Justin Bradford(78), Brooks Sacharcyk(150)
- 2nd Place – Justin Brown(86), Josh Chew(94), Wiley Van Voorst(100), Jacob Wright(115), Gabriel Gomez(140), Kenneth Barrett(165)
- 3rd Place – Brandon McClure(108), Tytus Kirby-Reach(185), Jackson Bolen(215)
- 4th Place – Noah Wilkes(130)
On Sunday, the top four teams from the conference came together to find out who has the best dual team. Blackman, Oakland, Richview and Tullahoma brought their varsity squads all hoping to be crowned #1. Blackman had convincing victories over Tullahoma and Oakland and it was no surprise that Richview did the same and met Blackman in the finals.
As everyone expected, the final dual was close! Blackman and Richview have met before and both had victories over the other coming in to this Sunday’s dual. Blackman started off with a 6-0 lead and before you know it, Richview put the scare in us all with three straight pins and climbed ahead 24-18. A couple of much needed pins later, Blackman came back and a final pin by Fowler put things out of reach for Richview. Blackman Wins!! Final Score: 46-39.
