The Blaze traveled to Wilson County tonight for a quad meet with Wilson Central, Independence & Glencliff High Schools.  Since Blackman will face Independence this coming weekend at the Tullahoma Duals, the Independence coach decided to hold back his varsity guys until Saturday so there was no match with Indy.  (We did wrestle some JV matches however)

To get things started, Blackman faced off with Glencliff on one mat and Wilson Central got Indy on the other.  Blackman was glad to get Sam Luker back in the lineup for the first time in two years and Sam wasted no time in winning his first match by pin!  Glencliff’s guys fought hard and one guy in particular pinned Elijah Cox with a nasty tilt but in the end, the Blaze were too much for Glencliff as Blackman handed them a solid defeat 78 – 6.  We got several of our backups into the score book as well and scored them some solid mat time.

We all know that Wilson Central has our date circled every season since we beat them back in 2012 at the Region 5 Duals.  The match started off at 195 as Bravo received a forfeit and after that, the Wildcats fired off 5 straight pins to take a 30 – 6 lead.  Our middle and upper weights battled back and scored some pins but the deficit was too large and Blackman fell 51-30.  Blackman had pins from Landon Folwer (145), Cole Tillman (152), Matthew Sells (160), and Hunter Winters (182).

Blackman moves to 7-1 in dual competition.  We wrestle again this Saturday at Tullahoma.  Come support the Blaze!!
